The Advisory Board and Partnership is a seperate entity that supports the Academy of Finance with three main goals:
 
1) To provide and/or secure career relevant PAID internships for Academy of Finance students

2) To provide support, expertise, and mentoring to ensure curriculum is relevant and current

3) To secure resources so that all students are college and career ready upon graduation


The Advisory Board is:
A dedicated group that provides both time and effort to ensure all Academy goals are met.
 
An advisory board member does ALL of these tasks:
  • Attends regularly scheduled meetings (approximately 6-8 per year)
  • Serves on at least one committee (Internship, College, Fundraising, Recruitment, Classroom)
  • Secures a minimum of 2 internship placements per school year
  • Actively participates in committee and advisory board tasks

The Partnership is:
A group of community organizations, colleges, businesses, educators, parents and students that provide high quality opportunities for students in and out of the classroom.
 
A partner does ANY of the following tasks: (this is not a complete list)
1) Provides unpaid or paid internships, tuition free college courses, articulation agreements
2) Provides other financial support such as grants, scholarships, gifts 
3) Participates in content specific classroom activities
4) Helps organize and/or coordinate Academy events and/or fundraising
5) Acts as a guest speaker, project judge or student mentor
6) Helps develop major project based learning opportunities
