As he drew nearer, the old man saw that the figure was that of a boy who was picking up starfish and putting them back in the sea. The boy told the man that starfish need to be in the water and he was helping them. The man pointing out that there were thousands of starfish, told the boy that there were far too many for him to be able to make a difference. The boy bent down, picked up a starfish, walked across the stones, and placed it carefully in the water. "I made a difference to that one," said the boy and continued with his work.
I have worked in the Lancaster Schools since 1985. I am married and have 3 children. Working with children and adolescents is my passion! I worked for 11 years at the elementary level and for the past 18 years at Lancaster High School. I love being a psychologist in the schools because it enables me to collaborate with students, parents and educators to assist each child in reaching their full potential. In addition to my work at the High School, I work with turning 5 students who are entering school aged programming and also provide support services to the Lancaster Evening Alternative Program.
