My goal is to meet the individual needs of each child academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. I expect your child to achieve all of his/her goals on his/her IEP by the end of the school year! In order for that to be possible, I look forward to working very closely with you! I thank you in advance for your support! As a team, we can provide the best education possible for your child!Grading Policy:Your child will get a skills-based report card every ten weeks (kindergarten does not get a report card until 20 weeks). The overall grade for each subject area is graded using numbers 1-4. A 1 is well below grade level, a 2 is slightly below grade level, a 3 is at grade level, and a 4 is above grade level. Under each subject are the skills that your child is working on. These skills are assessed using letters. An S means your child is secure in the skill, a D means your child is developing in the skill, and an N means that your child needs improvement on that skill. It is not allowed to mark anywhere on your child's report card that he/she receives special education services, therefore all students are graded based upon what is expected at his/her grade level. This can be very discouraging for parents. I strongly encourage you to look at the IEP progress reports that I will send home every ten weeks. Please look at the progress that your child is making on his/her individual goals! That is what is most important! If you ever have any questions or concerns about your child's report card or IEP, please do not hesitate to ask!
