What to Look for on the Parent Portal

Students will receive a "rubric score" for each area listed above:

          1- Below grade level
          2- Approaching Grade Level
          3- At Grade Level
          4- Above Grade Level

      Please Note!          notes
    • Students who receive of rubric score of a "3" are performing at grade level.  They are on target and have met their goal at that point in the school year.  Receiving a rubric score of a "4" means the child is currently achieving and/or performing above grade level.
    • Just like other school subjects, a child's grade may fluctuate throughout the year.  Please remember, the content and skills become more challenging each marking period.  They will have to work to maintain or achieve a higher grade.
    • Kindergarten students will not receive "Final" grades at the end of 10 weeks/marking period 1.  Students are only given "Final" grades at the end of 20, 30, and 40 weeks.
    • If you have any questions regarding your child's progress in music, please feel free to contact me by e-mail during the school day.  I would be more than happy to respond through e-mail, phone, or setup a personal conference with you at school.
