Mason Dixon, ace secret agent, is spying on enemy headquarters to try to figure out the password.
A man walks up to the door. The guard at the door says "Twelve." The man answers "Six." The guard lets him in.
A woman walks up to the door. The guard at the door says "Six." The woman answers "Three." The guard lets her in.
Mason, by this point, thinks he's figured out the pattern. He walks up to the door. The guard says "Ten." Mason says "Five."
The guard immediately sounds the alarm, and Mason is forced to run for his life.
What was Mason's mistake? What should he have said instead?
