•  John A. Sciole Fitness testing takes place twice a year.  We have a pre-test in September and a post-test in May.  The following exercises/stretches are performed during our fitness testing as well as throughout the school year in P.E. class:
     
    K and 1st :                                                                                                                                    1."Shoulder touches"
       (modified push-up)                                                                                                                
    2."Spaghetti and meatballs"  (modified sit-up or curl-up)
    3. Lunges
    4. Planks
    5. A, B, C Jumping Jacks
    6. "Butterfly" Stretch 
    7. "Hurdler" Stretch
     
    Second and third grade:
    1.  Push-ups - Upper body strength and endurance
    2.  "Burpies"
    3.  Sit-ups/curl-ups -  Core strength/endurance
    4.  Planks
    5.  Standing broad jump - Lower body strength
    6.  Sit and reach (flexibility)
    7.  PACER test - Cardio-respiratory endurance
    8.  "Mountain Climbers"
    9.  "Bird Dogs" (Core exercise)
    10. Lunges
    11. "Butterfly" Stretch
    12. "Hurdler" Stretch
