Technology Curriculum Mentor
Mrs. Heidi Chaves is a teacher on special assignment as Technology Curriculum Mentor in the Lancaster (New York) Central School District. Her duties range from helping teachers with passwords, to developing technology infused lessons, to coordinating the writing and implementing of the district technology plan. Encouraging and supporting teachers K- 12 in seven buildings is a challenge. Her most rewarding moments come when mentor, teacher, and student successfully integrate technology for better understanding of content. She has taught in the classroom for over 20 years and has presented numerous teacher workshops including NYSCATE. She received her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from the State University College of New York at Fredonia. In 2008 Mrs. Chaves received the Western New York Educational Service Council Award for Excellence in Teaching.
