    Expectations

     

    Teacher Expectations: This is what I will do...

    • Create engaging assignments and lessons.

    • Provide feedback.

    • Provide choice within the units.

    • Allow creativity to flourish.

     

    Student Expectations: This is what you will do...
    • Complete all class assignments and homework assignments.

    • Utilize teacher/peer feedback to grow as a reader and writer.

    • Make good choices based on personal interest and ability.

    • Be creative while allowing others to express themselves in their own way.
    • Act responsibly: Remember that anything done for school on the computer is an extension of our classroom and that whatever you do reflects our class and Lancaster Middle. You should always post and use the Internet appropriately.

     

    Requirements
     

    Outside of Class Requirements: 

    • Go on Google Classroom and complete all required assignments.

    • Time will vary depending on the individual student learner. You may be viewing videos or completing tasks. Most all homework will be used for the next day's class lesson. Please come to class prepared.

     Inside of Class Requirements:

    • Read

    • Write

    • Communicate with peers

    • Think critically

    • Consider and evaluate new points of view

                      A: WE READ FOR LIFE! WE READ TO LAUGH, CRY, EXPERIENCE, UNDERSTAND AND TO GROW.  
     
     
    We are also going to practice reading because...

          * reading helps build mature vocabulary.
          * reading is rewarding.
          * reading well is financially rewarding.

    Q: What are the parts that make up a complete essay?
     
    A: If you get stuck writing, knowing these parts will help you think about what to add next. This will help in HIGH SCHOOL!
     
    Introduction
       *Hook (Grab readers attention)
       *Thesis/Controlling Idea (Purpose of your paper)
       *Transition Sentences (Introduce your sources and/or people your discussing)
     
    Body Paragraphs
       *Topic Sentence/Focus Statement
       *Supporting Details-AT LEAST THREE (Will need explanation)
       *Wrap-Up Sentence or Closing Sentence 
     
    Conclusion
        *Re-State Thesis/Controlling Idea
        *Summarize Key Points
