I am pleased to welcome you to 7th grade social studies.  I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself.  I received my bachelor’s degree in history from Plattsburgh State University.  I completed the social studies certification program at Buffalo State in 2000 and took a job in Friendship New York.  In addition, I have a master’s degree in social studies education from Buffalo State. I taught 6th, 7th and 8th grade social studies in Friendship for three years and 7th grade for the last nine years in Lancaster.

I think you will find that my expectations for student achievement are high.  I would like all of my students to achieve mastery level according the New York State Learning Standards. I maintain that each student has his or her own learning style; therefore I plan each unit so that each student will have an opportunity to succeed.  My goal is for students to leave my class with the necessary skills and confidence to succeed in 8th grade.  I would also like to instill in them a sense of civic responsibility and an appreciation of history.
