The students accepted to the Health Care Academy are required to follow the course of study outlined below. Click on the name of a course for more specific information and requirements.

10th Grade:

Introduction to Health Careers (full year) Students survey a variety of health related topics including Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Terminology and Medical Ethics, Professionalism, Practical Skills, Employment Skills, and CPR training.

11th Grade:

Medical Terminology (half-year) Students become familiar with the language of medicine. Through studies of body systems, students are introduced to the terminology related to each system, as well as common disorders of each system.

Medical Ethics (half-year) – Students study the legal and ethical issues in health care by exploring current events and landmark cases in medicine.

12th Grade:

Anatomy and Physiology with Lab (full year) – Students study the basic structure and function of the human body. This course includes a lab component in which students perform several dissections and other laboratory activities.
