• Hello!
Thank you for taking the time to visit our classroom website.  I wanted to give you a little bit of background on myself since your child spends every weekday with me!  This is my 14th year working for Lancaster, my 13th year teaching the integrated program.  I absolutely love teaching this age level and working with children with special needs.  They all hold a special place in my heart and make my job something I look forward to each day!
I grew up in Wales Center with my parents, younger sister and younger twin brothers.  I attended Iroquois Central School District from Kindergarten-12th grade.  I graduated in 2000.  After high school, I went on to Buffalo State College.  I graduated from Buffalo State College in 2004 with my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood and Childhood Education as well as Early Childhood and Childhood Special Education certifications and a concentration in mathematics.  I began my Master's Degree immediately after.  In December of 2007, I completed my Master's Degree program at Buffalo State as a Literacy Specialist.  It has offered me many ideas and strategies for reading and writing to bring back into the classroom to utilize.
I currently live in Wales Center with my two boys, Brennan and Callan.  Brennan is turning 10 and entering 4th grade at Wales Primary.  Callan is 7 and entering 2nd grade at Wales Primary.  They are very excited to start a new school!
I truly enjoy working with your child every day!  I am always open to any suggestions, questions, concerns or comments that you may have at any time throughout the year.  Please do not hesitate to contact me by email at kmurtha@lancasterschools.org.
I hope you find the website useful and worthwhile.  Enjoy!
