JAS truly is committed to excellence." –Margaret (Peg) Hopkins, Principal May 2013 Dear Sciole Families, When the school year ends in June, I will be retiring as principal of John A. Sciole Elementary School. It has been an extraordinary privilege to have served so many students and their families over the past ten years. I cannot imagine being any more fortunate in my educational career than to have been given the opportunity to lead this wonderful little school. I have been blessed to work with an outstanding group of teachers and staff members; benefitted from the support of district administrators and board members; worked with so many selfless and hard-working PTO parents; and best of all, witnessed the enthusiasm of children every single day. What more could anyone ask for?! I thank all of you for your support over the years and for entrusting your most precious family members to my care. I can only hope that I’ve been able to help make those years happy, safe, and memorable for your children. Looking ahead to next year, please know that if your child will attend Sciole, classes will be put together using the same standards our teacher teams have always used. Rest assured that a new principal will be hired in a timely manner and with great care, and everything will be ready when school opens next September.
