• The Lancaster Central School District's purpose
    is to provide our students
with a comprehensive educational program that will allow them to develop fully
the necessary academic and social skills
to become responsible and productive members of a democratic society.

Never in the history of the Lancaster Central School District have we felt more compelled to ask our citizenry to share in the principles of our mission statement, and become directly involved in the democratic process of state and local governance. The political climate in Albany has begun to have a direct impact on the day-to-day operations of our school district. Our board of education and administration feel strongly that it is imperative for our community to speak out with one voice, sending a message to our elected officials.

This section of our website has been created to facilitate advocacy efforts regarding issues that directly impact our students. Here, we will list legislation that is either pending or already in place. We will also provide samples of advocacy letters written by the board of education or superintendent that provide feedback to our state elected officials. Please feel free to copy the advocacy letters in your effort to join us in lobbying our state legislators. Contact information for our representatives in Albany are listed at the bottom of the page.
