  • The Friends of JAS PTO will be holding their second annual meat raffle to support John A. Sciole Elementary on Friday, March 13.  Get your tickets now!  Order forms are available in the main office.

  • Common Sense Parenting Classes starting March 3, 2020

    Do you argue with your children about their behavior? Do you find the more you push, the more your child misbehaves? Do you say things you later regret? Do you feel like all you do is correct your kids? Do you use threats you won't carry out? Do you repeat the same instructions to your child over and over? 

    Common Sense Parenting, sponsored by the Lancaster Family Support Center, brings parents like you together to address topics like:

    • Preventing misbehaviors
    • Encouraging positive behaviors
    • Parents as teachers
    • Correcting problem behaviors
    • Teaching children self control
    • Handling emotionally intense situations

    Classes start Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at the Lancaster Youth Bureau, 200 Oxford Ave., Lancaster from 6-8 pm.
    (Six class series: March 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 & April 7, 2020)

    To register or for more information, please call Anne Monin at 686-3806 by March 2, 2020. Child care will be provided.

  • UPK Application Process Open

    Applications are now being accepted for Lancaster's Universal Pre-K program available for youngsters who will be four years old on or before December 1, 2020. A lottery determines placement in the program, depending on available enrollment.  The deadline for filing an application is March 20, 2020.     Section 409-1 of the New York Education Law requires schools to post access to the Prevent and Report Child Abuse Hotline1-800-342-3720.

  • Full Menu of Options Served on New Food Service Site

    The food service department has recently updated its website. Through the new site you can learn about pre-payment options, view menus, access the district wellness policy, nutrition information and fitness tips. You can visit the site through this link or via the food service button to the right.

  • Virtual Backpack

    Don't worry if you misplaced a flyer that was sent home in your child's backpack.  Informational flyers from the school, PTO, and community organizations will be available to you online - just look under the OUR SCHOOL tab for our Virtual Backpack!

  • We participate in the TOPS IN EDUCATION PROGRAM!  If you enroll in the program and register as a supporter of John A. Sciole Elementary, TOPS will donate up to 5% of your TOPS brand purchases back to the school.  Past supporters must re-enroll for the 2017-2018 school year.  Thank you for your support!
