• Looking forward to 9th grade can be both an exciting and intimidating time in your child's life. With many changes to be expected, here at LMS we strive to prepare each student for this next phase in their academic career.
Please mark your calendar for the Information Night at LHS on January 10th. Middle School Counselors will be in Science classes on January 17th and 18th to answer any questions and go over this scheduling process with students.
School counselors meet individually with each 8th grade student in February and March to plan for the 2019-2020 school year at LHS. During this appointment, students review their Scheduling Worksheet, included from the High School information night*, complete a career plan, and answer any questions that they may have regarding 9th grade. Students make an appointment using the separate link on our webpage.
Please review the Course Description Guide on the High School Counseling Center webpage for more information and 9th grade offerings.
In April, your child's course selections will be available on the Portal for your review. Any changes can be made with the school counselor by email, phone, or in person by student. All changes must be completed by May 3st.
Once course selections are made and sent to the High school, students will then receive their schedule at the High School Orientation the week before school starts. Watch for more details...
Current 6th and 7th grade students will receive schedules at the LMS Orientation the week before school. There is not a selection process. However, please make sure incoming 7th graders have filled out the Foreign Language Request Form.
Any questions, please contact your child's school counselor.
*If you missed the HS information night, sheets can be picked up at MS counseling office or accessed here:
