    Rhythm
    Students will experience:
    Beat vs Rhythm
    Whole Note and Whole Rest
    Half Note and Half Note
    Dotted Half Note
    Quarter Note and Quarter Rest
    Eighth Note
    Sixteenth Note
    Dotted Quarter Note followed by an Eighth Note
    Syncopation
    Meters in 2/4, 3/4, 4/4 and 6/8


    Melody
    Students will experience:
    Music Notation – being able to read the lines and spaces on the Treble Clef Staff and Bass Clef Staff
    Solfege (Do, Re, Mi, Fa, So, La, Ti, Do)
    Recorders (Low C all the way up to High D)
    Improvising on a Pentatonic Scale
    Music Composition


    Form
    Students will experience:
    AB
    ABA
    ABACA

    Movement and Instrument Playing
    Students will experience:
    Moving to both the beat and rhythm
    Orff Instruments (Xylophones, Glockenspiels, Metallophones)
    Variety of classroom rhythm instruments
    Choir Chimes
    Boom Whackers
