One of my favorite quotes from the start of my career in Physical Education came from an early childhood expert, Mimi Chenfield. She states, "Movement is as natural to learning as breathing is to living. It is not a frill. Movement is the way some people learn best".I feel physical education provides the total development of children. It impacts their physical, motor, cognitive, social, and emotional development. It encourages and prepares students for a lifetime of physical activity. Today, more than ever, children need to appreciate movement and the many benefits associated with physical activity and fitness... and how it will impact their future. We are living in a time where childhood obesity and other serious diseases such as diabetes are increasing at alarming rates and affecting so many of our children. As a physical educator and father, I am committed to educating and motivating the children in the Lancaster community to be the best they can be. It is a privilege to be able to teach and inspire children every day.
