• Other Ensembles for the LMS Marching Band Members to Consider

The following 2 ensembles are smaller select groups out of the marching band. The time commitment is not too extensive outside of the normal marching band schedule, and gives the students a chance to try a new instrument or skill. Both ensembles compete in only 1 competition.

    Percussion Ensemble

This performing ensemble will meet outside of normal rehearsal time to prepare for an indoor marching percussion performance-competition that will take place ONLY at Springville. No audition required.

Who Can Join? - Any current instrumental student that plays a wind or percussion instrument in marching band. (I would discourage any student already playing a secondary instrument in marching band, as playing a new instrument can be challenging enough without adding an additional percussion instrument. However, for some students it has worked in the past. See Mr. Seymour for questions.

When Do We Practice: - Most Monday’s after regular rehearsal until 6pm. Pizza will be served to those students. We also meet on select Saturdays for a two-hour rehearsal.

Can Parents Come to Springville to See My Performance? – Yes

Do I need to buy anything to participate? – No

    Indoor Color Guard

This group will meet on select Wednesday’s after school, and select Saturday’s for a two-hour practice. The members will learn some dance, and flag work for this performance-competition. No audition is required. The performance will be in a gym and choreographed to music that is played through a sound system.

Who Can Join? – Any current marching band guard OR instrumental student.

Can Parents Come to Springville to See My Performance? – Yes

Do I need to buy an additional equipment? - No
