LCSD Reopening Information (COVID-19)

  • In this section of our website we will be posting all COVID-19 information, whether it be notifications and links from federal, state, and local authorities; district plans and notifications; scheduling updates; Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs); surveys; videos; and links to other resources. All of these can be found, sorted by topic, in the left navigation of the site. Every effort is made by the district to ensure all of the content we create and post on our website is ADA compliant. If you are having difficulty with a link from an external agency, please contact that agency for assistance. 

    Submit questions or concerns to COVID19questions@lancasterschools.org. Your question will be routed to the appropriate department. If you have a specific question about your child, please email your child's principal or school counselor.

    I’m excited to report that earlier today the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC ) released changes (CDC Summary of Changes) that could potentially impact New York State (NYS) schools in the coming weeks.

  • Return to Play/Participation Letter and Form

    In consultation with our medical director and based on the updated guidance from the American Academy of Pediatrics, we strongly encourage all parents to utilize the Return to Play/Participate form prior to returning to physical activity (i.e., physical education or athletics). This is in addition to the already required note from a healthcare provider stating a child who has had COVID-19 is cleared to return to school.

  • Lancaster Central School District Survey on School Climate and Student Social Emotional Health

    Our district has partnered with the UB Alberti Center for Bullying Abuse Prevention for several years. Together, we are administering a survey to our teachers and parents as well as our students in grades 4-12 to better understand perspectives on our school climate, school engagement, and the stressors during this current school year.

  • Orange Zone Designation Lifted - 1/28/21

    Governor Cuomo lifts the orange zone designation for Erie County and, in effect, removed the mandate to continue COVID-19 testing in order for schools to maintain in-person learning.

  • LCSD Learning Model Commitment Letter - 12/23/2020

    At the beginning of the school year, each family committed to a learning model (i.e., in-person hybrid or 100% remote) for each child for the first semester. In order to plan for the second semester, we need each family to commit to a learning model for the remainder of the school year (February 1 - June 25, 2021) even if you are remaining in the same model.

  • Remote Meal Service - 11/19/20

    This letter serves as a reminder that the district is operating a remote meal pickup program (if you are already enrolled, you do not need to fill out a new form) and this program will continue to be available to all students while the district is in the fully remote learning phase. The meals are at no cost

  • Orange Zone Update - 11/18/20

    Moments ago, Governor Cuomo designated Lancaster as an Orange Cluster Zone. As a result, the Lancaster Central School District must shift from in-person learning to remote instruction for all hybrid students. Phase I of our Remote Instructional Plan will begin on Thursday November 19, 2020.

  • Yellow Zone Update - 11/11/20

    According to the governor’s plan, once designated a yellow zone micro-cluster, the district may remain open to in-person instruction, however, we would need to randomly identify and test 20% of our students and staff (1,200 tests per week) each week until the data points in Erie County and Lancaster drop below the yellow zone levels.

  • Child Care Resource Network

    Child Care Resource Network (CCRN) is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization located in Buffalo, New York, that works to help families find child care, educate and empower child care providers, and advocate for the children of Erie County and Western New York. Throughout Erie County, we conduct inspections to ensure providers are following regulations. CCRN also assists in opening child care centers and continues to support them with a wide variety of services.
