• Academy Courses



    The students accepted to the Health Care Academy are required to follow the course of study outlined below.

    10th Grade:

    Introduction to Health Careers (full year) – Students survey a variety of health related topics including Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Terminology and Medical Ethics, Professionalism, Practical Skills, Infection Control, and CPR training.

    11th Grade:

    Anatomy and Physiology I (full year) - Students begin a 2 year course of study of the structure and function of the human body. Included in this sequence is a focus on Medical Terminology associated with each body system.

    12th Grade:

    Anatomy and Physiology II with Lab (full year) – Students continue to study the basic structure and function of the human body. This course includes a lab component in which students perform several dissections and other laboratory activities.
