Members of the community are invited to apply for upcoming holiday assistance programs offered through the Lancaster Youth Bureau.
Each year, the Lancaster Youth Bureau works with Lancaster Schools, families, and community members to provide assistance to families in need during the holiday season. These programs are funded solely through food, clothing, toy, and monetary donations. This year the bureau’s Thanksgiving distribution will be a partnership with the Trinity Food Pantry who is generously assisting with turkeys.
A Thanksgiving Distribution will be held on Friday, November 22, and will offer turkey and Thanksgiving sides. Families must be in the Lancaster or Depew school district with children 21 years or younger in the household. The deadline to register is November 15. Families can sign up for the distribution by calling the Lancaster Youth Bureau at 716-683-4444.
The Lancaster Youth Bureau is also holding its December Day of Giving on December 17, and will offer families in need children’s gifts and a holiday meal.
The event is open to families in western New York who meet New York State Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) eligibility to qualify for holiday assistance. Proof of income and ID are needed for applicants.
The deadline to apply is December 10, and must be done in person at the Lancaster Youth Bureau, 200 Oxford Avenue, Lancaster. Those with questions are invited to call the Lancaster Youth Bureau at 716-683-4444.
