Lancaster Staff Celebrate Impact at Legendary Day of Learning

Staff at the Lancaster Central School District had the opportunity to reflect on the impact they have on students as they took part in the annual Legendary Day of Learning. The morning began with remarks from Navy Lt. Cmdr. Lauren Schmiegel-Luvera, a LHS class of 2008 graduate, who thanked the teachers and coaches that inspired her journey and reminded staff of the impact they can have on their students.

"The slightest encouragement, the slightest investment that you show your students goes a very, very long way," she said. "It's going to last a lifetime."

The day also included professional development sessions on supporting student needs, using technologies like artificial intelligence and developing student literacy. The first day of classes is scheduled for Tuesday, September 2.
