Keith Doktor
New SRO Introduced at Lancaster Middle School

The newest school resource officer at Lancaster Middle School, Keith Doktor, said he was excited to make a difference for young people and to continue creating a safe environment in a school that he attended as a young student.

“Having so many interactions with kids in the community, you see this is where they’re at a crossroads of who they’re becoming,” Doktor said. “You can have a positive impact.”

Doktor, a member of the Lancaster Police Department since 2018, graduated from Lancaster High School in 2005. He also served in a corrections role with the Erie County Sheriff’s Office for four years. Doktor fills a role left by the retirement of school resource officer Bill Loewer, who served the district for a decade.

Doktor said he has enjoyed returning to campus and seeing the differences from when he was a student.

“It’s awesome,” he said. “I walked the halls and have memories that happened in these hallways and classrooms.”
