    James Lyons
    High School Spanish Teacher
    Trades Places With
    Argentinian English Teacher

Mr. James Lyons has been awarded a Fulbright Teacher Exchange grant to teach in Argentina this year. He is one of approximately 170 Americans who have traveled abroad during the 2006-07 school year.

He is trading classrooms with an Argentinian teacher for six months. Ms. Maria Margarita Perrens, an English teacher from Argentina, is teaching Spanish B1 and C2 classes at Lancaster High School.

Established in 1946 under legislation introduced by Senator J. William Fulbright of Arkansas, the program’s purpose is ‘to build mutual understanding between people of the United States and the rest of the world.’

The Fulbright program is sponsored by the United Stated Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and operates in more than 150 countries worldwide. Fulbright awards are selected on the basis of academic or professional achievement as well as demonstrated leadership.

About blogs: Blogs read from the bottom, up. In other words, Mr. Lyons' first post is at the bottom of the blog and newer posts will appear on top of that.

Here are photos from the trip!
