Mr. Hochreiter teaches a variety of traditional technology courses, some of which alternate on a yearly basis. The multimedia classes are taught by Mr. H. The Manufacturing and Skilled Trades Academy coursework is taught by both Mr. Hochreiter and Mr. Santoro.
Multimedia Courses:
Computer Graphics: Fall Semester Grades 9, 10, 11, 12 (1/2 unit) Course # 9127
In this half-year course you will create graphic layouts using a desktop computer. Learn how to use a computer to draw, paint, scan, and surf the internet. Layouts and images will be printed on a black and white or colored printer. Students will use a variety of Adobe software programs to develop layouts similar to those used in the graphics industry today. Class supplies required: Pocket folder, notepaper, pen or pencil
CG Animation: Spring Semester Grades 9, 10, 11, 12 (1/2 unit) Course # 9128Making things move! The basics of cell frame animation, movement in a 3-D space, adding sound to a project, and record and edit the audio for your projects. Use your multi-media projects for a college application, or you can use your new knowledge to create great presentations for your other classes. Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, Audacity, Adobe Audition and other CGI industry standard software will be used. This is a half-year course taught in the Spring semester. Media Productions Grades 10, 11, 12 (1 unit) (Alternate Year Course) Course # 9131
Pre-requisite: Computer Graphics & CG Animation or Teacher PermissionMedia Productions is a full year course that will concentrate on what it takes to create a product for various media styles. Included will be the study of the design elements (scenery, sound, and lighting), and enhancing the video editing techniques (including special effects) learned in CG Animation. CG 3-D Animation Grades 10, 11, 12 (1 unit) (Alternate Year Course) Course # 9150
Pre-requisite: Computer Graphics & CG Animation or Teacher Permission
Animation Studio continues the animation techniques first learned in CG Animation. This advanced class will develop and publish various projects using the Multimedia lab and will concentrate on 3-D effects, and basic animation styles in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and advanced techniques using Adobe After Effects. In addition, the creation of 3-D characters and virtual reality scenes using Mudbox and Maya as well as other Autodesk Entertainment Suite software. CG 3-D is a full year course that is offered biannually. Class supplies required: Pocket folder, notepaper, pen or pencil
