Hello! Welcome to art with Mrs. Hrusa.

 

Students at the elementary level  will develop an understanding for the elements of art and the design principles as they move from one grade level to another.  Students will be able to view artwork and discuss it in terms of the elements of art and design principles.  They will also be able to make art with a conscious manipulation and control of the elements and principles.  By the end of their art experience at the primary level students will have a strong foundation in art regarding vocabulary, techniques, skills and art history so they are well prepared to continue their education in art at the intermediate grades.  Units in the curriculum are designed with the common core in mind as well as the state and national standards.  Students will be able to understand how their education in art is aligned with other disciplines and life.
