The Lancaster Central School District currently partners with Carousel Academy to provide Pre-Kindergarten services to our 4-year-old students. We offer high-quality learning experiences that set the foundation for educational success. Each day, we strive to build an atmosphere that fosters enjoyment and love of learning.

Requirements and Information
Requirements:
- Based on anticipated state and additional funding, students are selected to participate in the District's Universal Pre-kindergarten (UPK) Program by lottery.
- The UPK lottery application is closed for the 2024-2025 school year. If you missed the lottery application deadline, please call 716-686-3390 to have your child added to the waitlist for 2024-2025.
- The UPK lottery for 2024-2025 is on March 19, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. and will be held virtually.
- Lottery results will be available at the lottery and will also be provided via email approximately two weeks after the lottery.
- For the 2024-2025 school year, your child must be 4 years old on or before December 1, 2024.
- Your child must be the child of a custodial parent who is a legal resident of the Lancaster Central School District.
- Your child must be potty-trained before school begins.

Information:
- Universal Pre-kindergarten (UPK) classes will be held at the Central Avenue School building at 149 Central Avenue and at Our Lady of Pompeii School (129 Laverack Avenue).
- The half-day pre-kindergarten program runs 2.5 hours per day, five days a week. Classes are offered in the morning (approximately 9:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.) and afternoon (approximately 12:00 p.m.-2:30 p.m.). These times may be subject to change.
- The full-day pre-kindergarten program runs from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., five days a week. These times may be subject to change.
- The program follows the district calendar for holidays and recesses.
- Parents are responsible for transporting their child to and from the program.
