  • Universal Pre-Kindergarten Applications Now Being Accepted

    Based on anticipated state funding, the Lancaster Central School District is accepting applications for a tuition-free universal pre-kindergarten (UPK) program for the 2019-2020 school year. The district’s UPK provider is located at 149 Central Avenue, in the former Central Avenue elementary school building. The program follows the district calendar for holidays and recesses. Classes are offered in the morning and afternoon. Parents are responsible for transporting their child to and from the program.

    Universal Pre-Kindergarten Requirements:
    Your child must be 4 years old no later than December 1, 2019.
    You must be a legal resident of the Lancaster Central School District.

    The UPK lottery application is located at www.lancasterschools.org/PreK_lottery_application. The application deadline is Wednesday, March 13, 2019. A lottery for available enrollment will be held at William Street School on March 20, 2019 at 5pm.

  • Newly Enacted State Education Law Requires Posting of Child Abuse Hotline Information

    Section 409-1 of the New York Education Law, which became effective January 17, 2017, requires schools to post English and Spanish information for the toll free number operated by the New York State Office of Child and Family Services.

  • Full Menu of Options Served on New Food Service Site The food service department has recently updated its website. Through the new site you can learn about pre-payment options, view menus, access the district wellness policy, nutrition information and fitness tips. You can visit the site through this link or via the food service button to the right.

  • We participate in the AMAZON SMILE program.  By choosing John A. Sciole Elementary Parent Teacher Organization at Smile.Amazon.com, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price from your eligible AmazonSmile purchases to our school.

  • Virtual Backpack

    Don't worry if you misplaced a flyer that was sent home in your child's backpack.  Informational flyers from the school, PTO, and community organizations will be available to you online - just look under the OUR SCHOOL tab for our Virtual Backpack!

  • We participate in the TOPS IN EDUCATION PROGRAM!  If you enroll in the program and register as a supporter of John A. Sciole Elementary, TOPS will donate up to 5% of your TOPS brand purchases back to the school.  Past supporters must re-enroll for the 2017-2018 school year.  Thank you for your support!
