The newest members of the instructional staff at the Lancaster Central School District came together to meet district leadership and prepare themselves for the start of the school year.
The two-day new teacher orientation included a bus tour of the district, meetings with staff from across different buildings and departments and other learning opportunities about best practices in the district. A total of 17 new instructional staff members, which include teachers along with psychology and counseling staff, have joined the district coming into the 2023-24 school year.
“We value these days so our new staff get off on the right foot,” said Andrew Krazmien, Director of Secondary Education.
Karen Marchioli, Director of Elementary Education, told the staff that their first days in the role can come with some anxiety. However, she noted that there was a great deal of support around them.
“We are all people, we are all teachers, we all understand what you do,” Marchioli said. “We want to support you as you get started.”
