Healthcare Academy and Science Honor Society Collecting for Totes for Teens

The Lancaster High School Healthcare Academy and Science Honor Society are partnering to give back to a cause with close ties to LHS.

Created by former LHS special education teacher Leah George, Totes for Teens provides thermal totes for teens undergoing cancer treatments. Mrs. George started the effort in 2015 in memory of a special student, Chad Kulpa, who became a part of her family before his passing.

Since 2015, Totes for Teens has distributed 218 totes. The goal this year is to be able to provide 82 totes for an even 300!

Totes for Teens is in need of tote sponsors. Each tote costs $25. Cash and check donations can be given to Mrs. Brooder (Room 134) or Mrs. Miller (Room 107). Payment by Paypal is also available at www.paypal.me/LeahGeorge31 (please include the note “Totes for Teens”). Mrs. Brooder and Mrs. Miller are also collecting tote fillers, such as warm socks, Chapstick, hand lotion, hand sanitizer, coloring books and crayons, word searches, Sudoku books, journals and pens, decks of cards, small games, gum and hard candy, granola bars, etc.
